Advertisement inviting application for the position of Project Assistant in ANRF funded Project at the Institute of Health Sciences   Date: 01/07/2026

Applications are invited from motivated and eligible Indian citizens for the position of Project Assistant in the ANRF-sponsored research project entitled “Sustainable Fungal Chitosan for Hemostasis: From Strain Optimization to Regulatory-Ready Patch Development”, under the supervision of Dr. Paulomi Ghosh [Principal Investigator (PI), Assistant Professor, Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata].

Date and Time of Interview:Friday, July 10, 2026. Candidates are requested to report at least 15 minutes earlier.

iii) Scanned copies of their mark sheets/certificates and a Government-issued photo identity proof.

Minimum Educational Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology with first division.

The following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory:

a) Master's degrees in Microbiology with first division.

b) Previous research experience in projects related to microbiology and materials science.

c) Evidence of good oral and written communication skills in English through presentation.

d) NET qualified candidates will be preferred.

Job description: The manpower will be responsible for optimising growth curves of different fungi and their subsequent chitosan extraction, production of biomaterials, and in vitro/in vivo characterization. The Project Assistant will take part in publishing the scientific findings in reputed peer-reviewed international journals. He/she is encouraged to set up collaborations with other members of the department at Presidency University.

Duration of project:Three years.

Tenure of Assignment:Three years subject to the availability of funds by the funding agency.

Fellowship/Salary:

Rs. 27000 + Rs. 8100 (30%HRA)
